I would say a good percentage of the brides I work with are looking for very natural makeup and don’t want anything to heavy or statement but when that one bride comes into trial and says I want something big and glamourous, I won’t lie I do a little happy dance.
Kristy being one of these brides, she is not scared of makeup, knew from the off that she wanted big eyes using a rose gold/copper glitter and lots of liner including a liner flick. This is what she got.
Constantly in my job I am pigeon holed by people who think all I can achieve is the natural look and don’t get me wrong I love the natural look where we enhance a woman’s natural beauty but equally I love to get creative afterall I am an artist.
She married at a new venue for me at Pentre Mawr nr Denbigh in North Wales, having not been before and only living near Hawarden in North Wales, I decided to do a dummy run the night before, I am glad I did because it is fairly tucked away but when you get there, what a place, it was fabulous… on the grounds there was what looked liked safari tents, but this isn’t roughing it, each tent with four poster bed and sumptuous decorating. We got Kristy ready in a self contained cottage within the grounds of the walled/secret garden.
Kristy’s look, I am so proud of she looked absolutely amazing and the products I used to achieve her look was as follows:
Foundation – Airbase but rather than a light spray I did a few layers to give her a full coverage foundation.
Eyes – I used several products to achieve this look, I started with a primer by NYX which I set with a ivory powder from my Kat Von Dee Shade and light palette, to create the burnt orange tones, I used a mix of colours from the shade and light and from my Too Faced Peach Palette, finally in the centre of the eye I used a Lit Glitter in Cowgirl which is a very vibrant copper tone. I finished it off with Inglot eyeliner to create a liner flick and Ardell lashes
Contour I used the Anastasia Beverley Hills Contour Palette and Highlight from Peggy Sage Code in Peche.
Blush from Charlotte Tilbury
Finally I used a matte lip from Lime Crime in the shade Saint.
The inspiration for using the copper tones was because the bridesmaids each wore a sequin gowns in Bronze/copper tones.
Loved the look I created it is nice to get to do something a little more signature for brides as there are makeup artists out there that would refuse a bride but I would never, I believe a bride should put her own personality stamp into there look.
