We are in the second week in January so still good timing to look back on 2017 and all my brides. It started off the season for me, in February with the wedding of Annie who lived in the village I reside, Hawarden. So a really nice start to the season, being so local, and my final wedding was for Jayne at Nunsmere Hall in Cheshire.
I love the work that I do, I am always excited to be part of a brides big day. Yes it does mean a very early start on the weekends, when my husband and Dog are cuddled up nice and warm and my alarm goes off normally about 5.30am to 6am. However I would not change this for the world…..
It is always a pleasure to be part of that morning, listening to the excited chatter around me with some of the brides closest friends and family. I am getting to do the job I adore and I have never took it for granted, this job and skill I have is a gift and to be able to make my brides and the bridal party look and feel amazing is really the most wonderful feeling.
I am not just a Makeup Artist, I assist in so many other ways, helping calm the bride down, wiping away happy tears, helping the bridal party into gowns, putting the veils in, getting under the brides dress to smooth down all the petticoat layers. My sister and I have also sewn a bride into her dress when the straps came loose before her evening reception. Each of these jobs is never a chore it is all down to creating that final look for the bride and seeing her looking so perfect, elegant and radiant.
It really is the BEST job in the world and I would not change it for anything. 2018 is shaping up to be another fabulous year and I am so excited to part of the bridal prep morning.
